What PrimeSanta may collect
Depending on which beta features you use, PrimeSanta may handle:
- Account information, such as your email address and authentication records.
- Profile information, including a display name and an optional Venmo handle.
- Group information, such as exchange names, dates, settings, membership, and organizer status.
- Wishlist details, including Amazon links, gift titles, notes, priorities, expected prices, and optional images.
- Optional shipping information you provide for a particular group.
- Gift-planning records, including goals, pledges, and self-reported off-site payment status.
- Basic technical information needed to keep the service secure and diagnose failures.
- Product analytics only when enabled under the choice described below.
How information is used
PrimeSanta uses information to provide and secure the exchange experience, show the right group information to the right people, support users, improve reliability, and understand broad product usage. It is not intended to build advertising profiles or sell personal information.
Group visibility and recipient secrecy
Group membership necessarily involves sharing some information with other members, including display names and wishlists. The v1 product is being designed so gift goals and contributions for a recipient are unavailable to that recipient, while remaining available to eligible non-recipient group members.
Shipping information is more sensitive. For shipping groups, the access model is intended to limit an address to the member who provided it and that member’s assigned buyer. Organizers and unrelated members should not receive address access merely because of their role.
No online system can promise absolute secrecy or security. Please avoid putting unnecessary sensitive information in names, notes, wishlist text, or other free-form fields.
Payments and external services
PrimeSanta does not process, transmit, hold, settle, or verify money. A contribution inside PrimeSanta is a pledge or a self-reported status only. Any Venmo transfer happens directly between users under Venmo’s own terms and privacy practices.
Amazon purchases also happen outside PrimeSanta. When you follow an Amazon link, Amazon receives information according to its own privacy practices. PrimeSanta may participate in the Amazon Associates program and may earn from qualifying purchases.
Service providers
PrimeSanta may rely on carefully scoped providers for specific jobs, including:
- Supabase for authentication and database services.
- The selected application host for serving the website and operational logs.
- PostHog for limited product analytics if analytics is enabled with your choice.
- Amazon and Venmo only when you choose to visit or use those third-party services.
These providers process information under their own agreements and privacy notices.
Analytics and your choice
PrimeSanta’s policy for the authenticated app is to use intentional, limited analytics rather than broad recording. When analytics is enabled, the product is intended to ask for your choice, avoid session recording and broad autocapture, and exclude addresses, invite tokens, Venmo details, Amazon product details, assignments, goals, contributions, and purchase activity.
You may decline or later change analytics preferences without losing core product access.
Cookies and local storage
Authentication requires cookies so you can remain signed in safely. PrimeSanta may also store essential security and preference information, including an analytics choice. Optional analytics storage should not be used when you have opted out.
Retention and deletion
Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, protect it, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods may differ by data type. Beta users may request account or personal-data deletion, subject to records that must be retained for security or legal reasons.
Security
PrimeSanta uses technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved. Recipient secrecy and database-level access controls are explicit release requirements for the private beta. Even with safeguards, no storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Children
PrimeSanta is not directed to children under 13. A minor should use the service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.
Your choices and questions
You may update profile and group information through available product controls. For access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions, email privacy@primesanta.com.
